School Holiday Programme - Introduction to Astronomy

Join our unique two part school holiday program.
Ages 7 - 13 Limit 12 children per session.
Payment either via internet banking (invoice will be sent with the booking confirmation) or via EFTPOS on the day (EFTPOS or VISA / Mastercard).
First part is a 90 minute class introducing you to astronomy. We will give you an overview of astronomy and you will get to create your own star charts. For the second part join us in the evening to view the nights sky through one of our 9" telescopes, see Saturn and Jupiter along with other astronomical objects.
Note children need to be accompanied by an adult for the evening session.
Course is hosted at Bohally Intermediate with an afternoon classroom session 1:30 - 3pm followed by an hours session in the evening with our 9" telescopes (8:30-9:30pm). At this time of year Saturn and Jupiter should be easily viewable along with nebula and star clusters (depending on the evening).
If the weather is not suitable for the evening viewing then a substitute date will be organised. The Omaka Observatory is a Charitable Trust all funds raised go towards school groups visiting our Observatory.
Each participant will get a certificate for completing the course.
